ABOUT THE COMPANYEstablished for over 30 years, our Client is an award winning, family owned and operated Australian construction company, specialising in roll formed construction panels with wide-span capabilities for a range of industries including agriculture, aviation, education, defence and recreation.ABOUT THE ROLEAs Assistant to the Senior Rollform Operator, initially you will undertake an intense in-house training program on the company’s rollforming machines. You will be required to assist the Senior Operator in all activities associated with the use, maintenance, transportation and security of the equipment. Over the course of the next couple of years your training will lead towards you becoming a fully licensed Rollform Machine Operator who will be able to manage smaller projects and provide relief cover for the Senior Rollform Operator.This position will see you travel to various construction sites throughout Australia including the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Northern NSW. These assignments could run for short or long term periods subject to the location and scope of the project. ABOUT THE ROLE

DUTIES

As directed by the Senior Rollform Operator, you will assist with:

  • The daily production needs of the machine to meet project schedules
  • Preparing and mounting coils
  • The production of quality products within QA specifications
  • Providing information for reports on the machine performance, coil steel usage and the roll form machine status
  • The correct operation of the PLC (Programmable Logic Controller)
  • General construction tasks as directed by the Project Manager and/or Site Supervisor
  • Maintenance and repair of equipment between projects

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Trade qualification, i.e. mechanical, fitter and turner, boilermaker or hydraulics or extensive relevant experience
  • PLC experience
  • Electronics and Mechanical aptitude
  • Good communication skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Prior roll form operation and working with coil steel preferred
  • Current open drivers licence
  • Construction Industry White Card
  • Site construction experience with crane knowledge highly advantageous
  • Roofing knowledge desired
  • Ability to read basic measuring equipment and engineering drawings
  • Ability to handle coil with overhead cranes beneficial
  • Other tickets such as Dogman, Rigger, Confined Spaces, EWP, Working at Heights and Forklift are valuable
  • Current valid passport (or ability to obtain one)
