This is an outstanding opportunity for a self-motivated person to join the team at Kialla Group, a major player in Australia's organic grain processing industry as a Senior Accountant / Financial Controller.  This is an integral role within this company which is undergoing an exciting change and will allow for significant career development.YOUR NEW COMPANYThe Kialla Group, is located near Toowoomba, in the heart of the Darling Downs and is a major player in the rapidly growing organic food industry.  It has three operational companies: Kialla Pure Foods processes over 20 different grains into a wide range of artisan organic baking flours, specialty flours and premixes to supply the manufacturing, artisan bakery, food service and retail sectors. A large part of Kialla production is export, with a focus mainly on the Asian market.  Ausorganic Feeds is the sister company of Kialla Pure Foods, and utilises the by product from the flour milling process to manufacture a wide range of organic feeds suitable for commercial and domestic organic livestock. Kialla Farms - in 2016 the Group took on a Private Equity partner to assist in the purchase of a large scale irrigated farm which is now undergoing conversion to organic production.  A significant CAPEX program is currently underway at the manufacturing site which will see the expansion of the current facilities and processing capacity. YOUR NEW ROLEIs ideal for an analytical and forward thinking business professional who is looking for a chance to grow with the company and become a crucial member of the management team. YOUR DUTIES

  • Provide accurate and reliable budget reports, financial analysis and advice (annual, quarterly and monthly) to the Managing Director and the Board of Directors
  • Supervise all accounting functions including payroll, invoicing, purchases, cash sales, petty cash and bank reconciliation
  • Reconcile and maintain all company accounts through trial balance
  • Prepare reports and documents for the company’s accountant
  • Prepare financial budgets, profit and loss, balance sheets and cash flows
  • Maintain product costing
  • Maintain accurate inventory records
  • Coordinate quarterly stocktakes
  • Monitor capital works/repairs and maintenance expenditure on an individual asset basis
  • Supervise creditor payments, as approved by the Managing Director
  • Prepare BAS statements and other statutory reporting requirements for the Kialla Group
  • Maintain Asset Register
  • Manage inter-company transactions
  • Perform costing on various aspects of the business and or requisitions as requested
  • Maintain, develop and continue implementation of various software systems
  • Day to day accounting including data-entry
  • Supervision of AP Assistant

 YOUR KEY ATTRIBUTES

  • Previous experience in a similar role desirable
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business Management, Finance or Accounting
  • Exceptional Excel skills at an advanced level
  • Prior experience within an accounting environment which includes integration between software packages
  • Excellent conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to recognise and identify emerging financial issues and trends
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Deadline driven with a high attention to detail
  • Flexible approach
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Previous experience working with Ostendo, Castaway and MYOB desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and team members
