Senior Receptionist / Nurse


Our client is a well-respected medical specialist who consults from St Andrews Hospital. Due to growth within the practice there is an opportunity for a genuinely happy and experienced Medical Receptionist, preferably with a nursing background, to take on this senior role.You will provide support to the Doctor and work alongside other team members to ensure the practice runs efficiently and smoothly. This full time position will require you to work a 76 hour fortnight, which is generally spread over 9 working days* (excluding weekends), between 7:30 am and 6:30 pm.As a Senior Receptionist, you will ensure all patients and visitors to the practice receive a friendly yet professional welcome in a timely manner, and that patient care is placed in high regard.   • Ordering of various supplies
  • Other administrative and practice maintenance duties as required

 To perform the duties of this role you will need to have:

  • Previous medical reception experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to engage with a wide range of patients, health professionals and visitors
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • An inherent approach to maintaining confidentiality and privacy within the healthcare environment
  • A sound understanding of medical terminology
  • Experience with medical software programs such as Genie, Eclipse, Medical Objects, Dragon and Health Fund Tables
  • Proficiency with Dictaphone typing
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • A ‘flexible, can-do’ attitude
  • Demonstrated experience of working in a fast paced environment
  • The ability to think outside the square
  • Professional and immaculate presentation
  • Bachelor of Nursing or Enrolled Nurse advantageous
  • Medical Terminology Certificate desirable
