They specialise in roll form construction panels with wide-span capabilities utilised within the agriculture, aviation, defence, education and sports and recreation industries.YOUR NEW ROLEDue to growth, our client requires an experienced Commercial Construction Industry Estimator to join their team of professionals. Work is primarily sedentary but will include local and some intra/inter-state travel to visit client sites as required. YOUR NEW ROLE

Due to growth, our client requires an experienced Commercial Construction Industry Estimator to join their team of professionals. Work is primarily sedentary but will include local and some intra/inter-state travel to visit client sites as required. You will prepare and complete estimates and budgets for all contract types in accordance with company requirements.

YOUR NEW DUTIES

Reporting to the Senior Estimator and or the Construction Manager your responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Tender response and management
  • Preparation of scopes, project pricing schedules, perform quantity take-offs, prepare cost summary sheets and input into estimating software
  • Present cost estimates to meet client proposals
  • Undertake cost plans, orders of cost and preliminary budget estimates from sketch designs and conceptual drawings
  • Assist Project Managers and Contracts Administrators to review subcontractor quotes and estimate variations
  • Foster and promote all external and internal relationships to facilitate business requirements
  • Perform work in accordance with relevant legislation, quality and WHS standards

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Cert IV in Building & Construction (Estimating) and /or Diploma of Building & Construction or relevant equivalent work experience – with a minimum of 8 years commercial construction Estimating experience 
  • OR Bachelor of Construction Management/Project management or relevant equivalent work experience  with minimum of 8 years commercial construction Estimating experience 
  • Advanced knowledge of estimating strategies and techniques
  • Proficiency in Buildsoft, Microsoft Office programs and other systems relevant to the role
  • Conversant with Engineering nomenclature
  • Proven ability to quickly review a given scope of work and determine the level of estimate obtainable and time required to produce the estimate
  • High level conceptual and analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to analyse complex issues and problem solve.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high level of organisational, problem solving, analytical and customer service skills.
